  • China-Africa Cybersecurity Collaboration: Pioneering research on cross-continental cooperation in cybersecurity, leveraging China’s technological advancements to address African digital security challenges. We explore best practices in technology transfer, joint capacity building initiatives, and collaborative approaches to regional cyber threats. Our work bridges Eastern and African cybersecurity frameworks, creating knowledge pathways that benefit both continents.

  • Data Security: Protecting sensitive information in Nigeria’s rapidly digitizing economy, from personal data in healthcare and education systems to proprietary business information. We develop robust encryption standards, secure data storage solutions, and privacy-preserving technologies tailored to African infrastructure and regulatory environments. Our research ensures that as Nigeria’s digital economy grows, citizens’ and organizations’ data remains protected.

  • Surveillance Systems & Ethics: Investigating the design, deployment, and governance of surveillance technologies in African contexts. We research both the technical aspects of surveillance systems—including network monitoring, video analytics, and digital forensics—and the ethical frameworks needed to balance security needs with privacy rights. Our work informs policy discussions on responsible surveillance that protects citizens while maintaining public safety.

  • Web Application Vulnerability Research (.NET Focus): Conducting in-depth security assessments of web applications built on the .NET framework, which powers many of Nigeria’s government portals, banking platforms, and enterprise systems. Our researchers identify vulnerabilities in ASP.NET applications, develop secure coding guidelines specific to .NET environments, and create tools for automated security testing. This focus addresses the practical security needs of Nigerian organizations heavily invested in Microsoft technologies.
